Soccer Player Best Practices
VAA Travel Soccer Player Standards
- If a player is missing a game or practice, the player or parent should communicate to the coaches as early as possible with the reason why they are missing it.
- Players are expected to be at practice 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (dressed and fully ready to train).
- Players are expected to warm up and be at games at least 30 minutes before its scheduled to start (dressed and fully ready to play). Some teams may require an earlier warm-up time.
- Players should arrive at practice and games dressed like a soccer player! Soccer cleats, soccer shorts (not lax or basketball shorts), soccer socks over the shin guards, and the appropriate soccer jersey.
- Players are expected to come to training prepared and motivated to become a better soccer player. Players must exhibit self-control and show respect for the game to all coaches and teammates.
Fun in practice comes from playing the game. Coaches and Trainers deserve our players full attention, practice will only be productive when players are fully focused on the coaches/trainers instruction and coaching.
